Gillingham seek win

GILLINGHAM are looking to a makeshift centre forward to mastermind their bid for an English League Cup upset against Coventry tonight.

Iffy Onuora was previously operating out wide for the second division outfit but has not looked back since an injury to regular striker Leo Fortune West gave him the chance to operate down the middle.

The result of the switch has been goals, and a terrorising of opposition defences which he will be looking to repeat against Ron Atkinson's struggling side.

Gillingham assistant manager Lindsay Parsons said: "He has got seven goals in the last seven games and won up two penalties against Millwall on Saturday.

"He is the one who looks like is going to score for us at the moment and hopefully he can give Coventry problems."

The other potential major shock of the night could be at Bootham Crescent where second division York will be looking to complete a hat trick of Premier League scalps in the competition.

Last season they stunned the soccer world by beating Manchester United in the second round and this season knocked out Everton at the same stage.

Now they will tackle Leicester, who have faltered in their last two matches against Chelsea and West Ham after a promising start to life back in the top flight.

Another victory would give a little of the limelight to York manager Alan Little for a change rather than his brother Brian who led Aston Villa to the Coca Cola Cup last season.

Blackburn's under fire manager Ray Harford, still searching for his first Premier League win of the season, knows the knives will be out if his side slip up at home to Stockport.

Harford adrnitted: "The vultures will be circling around looking for a shock result and we must make sure that we aren't amongst the dead bodies."

Chelsea, surprisingly beaten by Stoke in last season's competition, will also not relish the prospect of visiting first division leaders Bolton.

Bolton coach Phil Brown said:

"We are up for the game and Chelsea will not relish coming to our place."
