Galway easily dismissed a disjointed Limerick in a lop-sided All-Ireland minor hurling quarter-final clash at Ennis yesterday evening.

The reigning All-Ireland champions, back-boned by five members of last season's squad, recorded a point inside 10 seconds from Damien Hayes, and followed up with scores from Adrian Cullinane, Trevor Kavanagh and two from the outstanding midfielder, Ger Farragher.

Fourteen minutes had passed before Eoin Foley, from a free, scored Limerick's first point. However, Galway remained in control, and were comfortably ahead by 012 to 0-4 at the interval.

Limerick reshaped their team at the start of the second half, and their interest in the match was renewed when Michael McKenna claimed the game's only goal following a 60-yard free in the 43rd minute, leaving just six points between the sides (015 to 1-6).
