Lorna Joyce added a second goal three minutes into the second half, before Conneally was dragged to the ground by Monaghan goalkeeper Annemarie Burns. Niamh Fahy converted the penalty to put Galway 3-5 to 0-5 ahead.

LEINSTER U-21 FC: Dublin progressed to a fifth consecutive under-21 Leinster football final with a 1-11 to 2-6 win over Longford on Saturday.

ULSTER U-21 FC: Down progressed to the final of the Ulster Under-21 championship following a 1-11 to 0-9 win over Fermanagh at Brewster Park on Saturday.
Down led by 1-5 to 0-5 at the interval, their goal coming from Niall McArdle.
Their opponents in the final will be Cavan, who beat Armagh by 1-6 to 0-7 at Breffni Park.
Seán Johnston's goal at the start of the second half was the turning point of the game.
MUNSTER MINOR HC: Tipperary briefly trailed Clare in the second half following a goal from Colin Ryan at Limerick on Saturday. However, Tipp responded strongly to emerge 2-20 to 1-11 winners, with Joey McLoughney notching a personal tally of 1-6.
LEINSTER MHC: Dublin and Wexford fought out a 0-13 to 1-10 draw at Parnell Park on Saturday.
Dublin, who trailed by 1-7 to 0-5 at half-time, registered six successive points in the second half to get back into the game.
Wexford were ultimately grateful to PJ Nolan, who struck a late equaliser.
