Galway advance

Galway and Charleville golf clubs have qualified for the playoffs of the JB Carr Diamond Trophy. Galway, who won the event two years ago and were beaten finalists last year, beat Ballymote in the Connacht final by 7 1/2 matches to 2 1/2. In the Munster final, Charleville made a successful trip to Lahinch needing two matches after their 4-1 success in the first leg at Charleville. They now go forward to the national finals at Woodenbridge on September 25th and 26th.
