Cahalane is probably our Messi in the team. Only a puck of a goal between us. We pushed up on Galway in the second half. Our inside line has been brilliant, I wouldn’t swap them for anyone.”

36 mins: Galway win in midfield and win a free which Dolan converts well. But the lead doesn’t last long as Calahane catches and shoots sharply. 10 points apiece.

33 mins: Good start to the second half by Cork with a superb score by Emma Murphy. Then a goal chance for Cork, with Healy under pressure from the high ball but Galway just escape. Then Laura Hayes hits a brilliant point from a standing position to level the score.

Galway well deserving of their lead so far but it’s a tight game with all to play for in the second half. No shortage of bite in this one between the two rivals.
30 mins: Dervla Higgins scores for Galway before a peach of a score by Caoimhe Kelly to put Galway further ahead.

28 mins: Frantic minute as Cork goalkeeper Amy Lee misjudges an underhit free and Galway almost take advantage, but Cork scramble it away.
26 mins: Great free-taking by O’Connor so far, she gets a third of the match to narrow it back to one point. Neither side giving an inch, a minute or two of battling play, then McCartan hits a wonderful point from near the sideline. The scores don’t stay level for long though as Donohue puts Galway back ahead with a fine score.

22 mins: Fantastic score by Galway, Ciara Hickey with a great long pass, Carrie Dolan sells a dummy and then strikes it over from near the sideline. Galway warming up nicely as Niamh Niland plays a one-two with Dolan and slots one over.

19 mins: Sorcha McCartan with a great score after getting a bit of space and swinging over from an angle to level the scores again. She has a chance to put Cork ahead, but her chance trails off wide.

17 mins: Attritional so far and the injuries are showing as Niamh Mallon went down injured after a fall and then Millie Condon is down after a collision with Dolan again, who gets a yellow card. Mallon won’t continue, while Dolan is off on a blood sub. O’Connor scores for Cork.

15 mins: Carrie Dolan doesn’t miss this time after missing in the opening minute as she sticks it over from a placed ball to give Galway a two-point lead. Ashling Thompson misses a chance.

12 mins: Caoimhe Kelly levels the scores as she turns and swings it over beautifully. Galway turn the ball over and Kelly nails another sweet one over the bar from a similar position from the right.

8 mins: Big free from distance from Saoirse McCarthy to give Cork the lead. It’s been a physical game so far and Laura Hayes has got treatment after a very heavy collision with Carrie Dolan, Dolan lucky to get away that not even being a free.

County rivals, club foes. When Cork and Galway meet in the All-Ireland senior camogie final at Croke Park on Sunday, it’ll be the latest instalment in the history between the counties. But for many players on both sides, the rivalry cuts a layer deeper, writes Muireann Duffy.
Ashling Thompson lines out in her 11th All-Ireland final with Cork.
“I always think we’ve only won six out of 10,” she says, referencing the deciders Cork have reached since 2014. “We’ve lost four of those All-Irelands. It wouldn’t be nice to lose a fifth on Sunday.
“I think when you look back on your career, you’d probably look back on it more positively, but when you’re in it and people ask you how many you’ve won and you say six, in the back of my mind I’m like, ‘But we lost four, like. We’ve lost plenty’.
“It’s almost like six isn’t enough, which is probably very greedy, but finals are there to be won, and seven sounds better than six.”
Here is Gordon Manning’s preview, who singles out Carrie Dolan as someone who could make the difference.
“When the sides met again in Athenry in June for the opening round of the championship group stages, a new-look Cork side ran out 0-18 to 1-8 winners in what was another fiery contest. Galway were not at full strength that afternoon, though, and the new format for the championship this year effectively meant there was no real jeopardy hanging over that fixture.
“In addition, Galway captain Dolan didn’t start that game and her influence will make a big difference this weekend.”

Hello and welcome to live coverage of the All-Ireland camogie final between Galway and Cork, which throws in at 4.15pm. Galway and Cork have been the game’s dominant forces over recent years and on Sunday they will clash in a third consecutive All-Ireland senior final, with the spoils one apiece. Cork won the 2024 decider by one goal, but Galway got revenge last August with a dramatic one-point victory in a feisty match. The rivalry continues today.
In the intermediate final, Antrim lead Laois 0-7 to 0-4 in the first half. Armagh edged out Cavan in a closely fought all-Ulster junior final.
