The recent Mickey Herbert Golf Classic, played at Killeen GC in Co Kildare in aid of Our Lady's Hospital for Sick Children in Crumlin, proved to be a resounding success. A total of 74 teams entered the three-ball scramble with Mark Beatty, Robbie Winders and Gavin Lunny taking the honours with a creditable score of 56 2/3.

Luke Waldron of Crumlin Hospital said that the £10,000 raised was already earmarked for essential equipment for the hospital and thanked committee members Michael Herbert, Martin Ryan and Eamonn Mitchell for their efforts.
