FOUR full time Irish tennis players with world rankings are currently contemplating prospects of competing at the Atlanta Olympics this summer.

They are Owen Casey, who competed in the last two Olympics, Scott Barron, Gina Niland and Karen Nugent. The qualifying rounds system will not be in operation this time and this means that, by April 28th, ATP and WITA rankings as well as wild cards will ultimately decide on entry for those outside the 48 places in the direct acceptance categories.

Meanwhile, Dublin schoolboy and Davis Cup squad member John Doran (17) has been fined £100, arising from the referee's report on the National Indoor

Championships at Riverview.
