Following discussions with the Irish Sports Council, the organising committee of the Irish Squash Open, which was scheduled for next weekend (March 9th11th) at Fitzwilliam Lawn Tennis Club, have decided to postpone the event.
The Golf Course Superintendents Association of Ireland (GCSAI) have cancelled their 2001 conference on the advice of the Department of Agriculture. The conference was due to be held on March 7th-8th at the Hudson Bay Hotel in Athlone.

National cross-country manager Peter Purfield has called on all mountain bike riders to refrain from going off-road, either by bicycle or on foot.
