Fermanagh 0-14 Carlow 0-9: Fermanagh footballers, already promoted, assured themselves of going up as divisional winners with a hard-earned win over Carlow at Dr Cullen Park yesterday.
Throughout the game the visitors enjoyed a greater share of possession but, while their approach play was excellent, they were inaccurate with their shooting, producing a wide count of 16.
Carlow led 0-7 to 0-5 at half-time and were 0-9 to 0-6 in front 12 minutes into the second half when Brian Kelly kicked a superb point from a free. That, however, was to be the home side's last score while Fermanagh put eight unanswered points over.
Colm Bradley's point from play in the 19th minute tied the sides at 0-9 each and four minutes later Fermanagh's Stephen Maguire put the visitors in front for the first time with a point from play.
Further points from Mark Little and Mark Murphy put Fermanagh three points clear before Carlow spurned a great chance of a goal when substitute Ciarán Pender saw his shot for goal canon off the crossbar.
Further Fermanagh points from Raymond Gallagher and Tom Brewster gave the Ulster men a five-point margin of victory.
