A sweet drop goal by Eoin Farrell five minutes from full-time won an enthralling Leinster Schools' Senior Cup match for Presentation Bray after they had come from 12-9 behind just 10 minutes into the second half.
Bray made hard work of it in the first half. They had 90 per cent of the territorial advantage but yet led by just 65 at the break.
Winger Barry McArdle got Belvedere back into the match close to half-time with a speedy break, a kick ahead, and a desperate scramble for the line.
Belvedere scored the only tries of the match, the second coming from full back Conor Doyle who followed up superbly after winger Donagh Fitzgerald made the initial 30-metre break.
But the superior Bray side fully deserved their victory, their points coming from four penalty goals by hooker Peter Hipple.
Belvedere made a match of it in the second half with some exciting running, but the Bray defence held firm and their dominant pack gave their accomplished half-backs Mark Flynn and Eoin Farrell plenty of time to set their backs in motion.
With line-out superiority coming from Stephen Flood and Cormac Nolan, Farrell was never afraid to send long raking balls to touch and it was from one such occasion that the forwards set the scene for his winning drop goal.
