Kieren Fallon has been approached to ride Moiava in the Sagitta 1,000 Guineas at Newmarket on May 2nd for Chantilly-based trainer Criquette Head, it was revealed yesterday.

The British champion jockey has been offered the plum ride on the filly, quoted the 9 to 2 favourite for the Newmarket Classic by Ladbrokes, following the 15-day ban picked up by Moiava's intended partner, Olivier Doleuze, at Longchamp on Sunday.

Speaking at Windsor races yesterday, Fallon seemed surprised that the news had leaked out, saying: "How did you know about that?

"I have been offered the mount but my retained stable of Henry Cecil is likely to have a live one in the race and if he has I will not be able to ride the French filly."

Head said yesterday: "Moiava missed the Prix Imprudence owing to a minor problem and is on course to have a racecourse gallop at Maisons-Laffitte this Friday."

Golden Silca, successful four times at Newbury last season including in the Group Two Mill Reef Stakes, is set to reappear at the Berkshire track in the Dubai Duty Free Stakes - formerly known as the Fred Darling Stakes - over seven furlongs on Friday.

The filly's trainer Mick Channon said yesterday: "She's in great form and goes on Friday. If she runs all right then she'll go for the Guineas."

However, the Peter Makin-trained Imperial Beauty, a half-length runner-up to Wannabe Grand in last year's Cheveley Park Stakes, will not run until the Guineas.

Auction House, runner-up in last season's Dewhurst Stakes, heads 13 entries made yesterday for the Tripleprint Stakes - formerly the Greenham Stakes - at Newbury on Saturday.

The Barry Hills-trained colt defeated Commander Collins a head in the Champagne Stakes at Doncaster in September prior to going down by two lengths to Mujahid in a top-class field at Newmarket the following month.

"Auction House has done very well," Hills said yesterday. "He'll be declared for Newbury but if he doesn't run he'll be working after racing there on Saturday."

The Henry Cecil-trained Enrique, a length and a quarter behind Auction House in the Dewhurst and quoted at 8 to 1 for the first colts' Classic, is expected to reappear in the Newbury race.

However, Commander Collins, who landed the Racing Post Trophy on his final start last term and is also an 8 to 1 chance for the 2,000, will head to Newmarket without the benefit of a prep-race.

2,000 Guineas entry Boldy Goes reappears in the Thirsk Classic Trial over a mile on Saturday, trainer Chris Fairhurst announced yesterday. The colt won four of his five starts in his first season.
