TYRONE SFC FINAL: Errigal Ciarán 0-13 Dromore 0-8:ERRIGAL CIARÁN caused an upset with victory over holders Dromore at Healy Park yesterday.

A blend of youth and experience delivered a first title in six years for the Dunmoyle side. It was in the final 10 minutes that Errigal made their move, hitting eight points and conceding just one.

Dromore dominated during the opening 10 minutes, but managed just one point, a Ryan McMenamin effort from wide on the right. Errigal drew level through Ronan McCrory in the ninth minute, and Davy Harte was again the provider as Bryan Horisk cancelled out Seán McDonnell’s score.

Errigal began to get the match-ups right, going man to man on all the key Dromore attackers, Aidan McCrory getting on top in his duel with Eoin McCusker and went in front through Caolan Tierney, and the champions had gone 18 minutes without a score when Niall Sludden pointed.

Errigal led, 0-5 to 0-3, at the break, but the holders hit the first four points of the second half.

Errigal stepped up the tempo, with Davy and Peter Harte inspiring with their running from the back and both thumped over scores. Dromore finished with 14 men when Cathal McCarron got a straight red card.
