Limerick SF final: Drom-Broadford 1-12 Athea 0-7 Drom-Broadford disposed of a rather weak challenge from Athea at the rain-lashed Gaelic Grounds yesterday to add to their first Limerick senior title win of two years ago.

Athea, who had last won the trophy in 1968, went in just 0-6 to 0-4 in arrears. But on 47 minutes Ray Lynch converted a penalty and Drom were coasting at 1-12 to 0-5. Indeed, with one hand on the trophy, the winners relaxed to such an extent that they failed to score thereafter.
