THE Jim Bolger Kevin Manning combination made it three wins after just two days of the new flat season when Saibhreas and Blues Project completed a double at a sun kissed Clonmel yesterday.
Saibhreas quickened nicely from the furlong pole to beat the well backed Lymax by a length in the opening Easter Egg Maiden, while Blues Project followed up for the Coolcullen handler when staying on well to land the Kilsheelan Handicap. Bolger plans to find a similar handicap for Blues Project before sending the four year old over hurdles.
Generosa landed a touch (8-1 to 7-2) for John Hassett in the other flat event on the card, the Comeragh Flat Race for amateur riders. The Generous filly, who was bought at the Newmarket sales last December after winning a maiden for Henry Candy, made all under Damian Murphy (22) and strode clear in the closing stages for a very easy seven length success.
