Donoughmore brought the AIB All-Ireland Senior women's football title back to Cork for the first time since 1984 with a stylish victory over Ballyboden St Enda's in Birr yesterday.

The Munster champions were helped by three crucial goals coming in the opening minutes of either half. Cork camogie star Lynn Dunlea helped herself to two, scoring her first after only four minutes when Ruth Ann Buckley provided the perfect pass. Aisling Barrett helped herself to her side's second goal.

The match featured some outstanding goalkeeping with Donoughmore's Tracey Rodgers and her opposite number, Suzanne Hughes, making vital saves.
