These are not happy days at struggling Turkish club Erzurumspor. Last week they lost again, 2-1 at home to Samsunspor, a result that had the fans showering abuse on chairman Cemal Polat. One in particular really got up Cemal's goat and he approached the fan and showered him with a hail of punches. The police finally removed Cemal's fist from the throat of the fan, who was taken to hospital in 12 ambulances.
"Relax," the chairman told an agog press, "it's nothing to worry about".
