SAILING:A surge by Croatian boats, led by Lima Stock, ousted overnight leader Serena de Luca from Italy from the overall lead of the women's event in the Laser 4.7 European Championships on Dublin Bay yesterday.

Today sees the split into the gold, silver and bronze fleets after four days of classification races. Russians Yan Chekh and Ivan Zotov hold the first two places overall.

Ireland has two in the top division, Ross Vaughan and Scott Flanigan.
