Coláiste Eoin take the spoils at Belfield

DUBLIN SCHOOLS' JUNIOR FOOTBALL FINAL/Coláiste Eoin 4-14 St Benildus 0-2:A SUPERB display in near-perfect conditions saw Coláiste Eoin claim the Dublin Schools' Junior A title at Belfield yesterday.

Local rivals St Benildus should be applauded for their efforts, but they caught their Stillorgan neighbours on a seriously good day as every player from 1 to 15 got on top of his man in a powerful performance.

Lorcán Ó Maoileannaigh struck for a hat-trick of goals for the Gael scoil, the first of which came seven minutes in with a fine finish.

Oisín Ó Ruairc’s goal at the end of the half made the scores 2-5 to 0-2 and as the Benildus tired, Ó Maoileannaigh, Fionnán Motherway and Daithí Ó Cathmaoil punished them en route to lifting the trophy.
