Yevgeny Kafelnikov proved his clay court expertise by closing out another expert on the surface, Sergi Brugucra, after a 6-2, 7-6 victory in the quarter final of the German Open at Hamburg yesterday.
Kafelnikov, seeded third cruised through the first set against the Spaniard but had to come back from 2-5 down in the second before finally overcoming the sixth seed 7-5 in the tie break.
