GOWRAN PREVIEW:JIM BOLGER'S filly Blas Ceoil is the sole three-year-old running in this evening's seven-furlong handicap at Gowran Park but her task still looks a lot easier than what could be facing her at the weekend, writes BRIAN O'CONNOR.

Blas Ceoil remains one of just 14 contenders for Sunday’s French 1,000 Guineas at Longchamp, alongside her stable companion Oh Goodness Me, and both Bolger horses also figure among entries for a Group Three at Leopardstown this weekend.

In that light, opposition such as the former Irish Lincoln winner Crooked Throw and the Stakes performer Hard Rock City doesn’t look so formidable and Bolger’s willingness to pitch the Mr Greeley filly against her elders looks significant.

Dafaroun put in a remarkable display to come from last to first at the Curragh on Sunday and although he will need luck in running in today’s seven-furlong handicap a 5lb penalty shouldn’t be a problem.
