Div 2B/Cavan 3-11 Antrim 0-11: Cavan bounced back from their heavy defeat by Derry when they gained a psychological boost over their upcoming Ulster Championship opponents Antrim with a comfortable win at Kingspan Breffni Park yesterday.
Cavan manager Eamon Coleman was delighted to see his side returning to winning form. He was particularly pleased with the first-half performance, admitting the game was decided by half-time, at which stage Cavan led by 2-8 to 0-4.
The first goal had come from Jason Reilly after a mere 28 seconds - the second arrived on the stroke of half-time from a Peter Reilly penalty.
Although Antrim registered the opening score of the second half, from a Jonathan McAleese free, Cavan resumed control, and their third goal - from Lorcan Mulvey in the 45th minute - ended the game as a contest.
