MARTIN McHUGH and the Cavan football selectors have made three changes for Sunday's Ulster semifinal against Donegal at Clones. Into the team come Ronan Carolan, Larry Reilly and Terry Farrelly and back to the bench drop Paul Brady, Anthony Forde and Jason Reilly.

All three players introduced to the side came on as substitutes in last week's three point, first round replay victory over Fermanagh, also at Clones.

Farrelly, a centrefielder on last year's under 21 side which reached the All Ireland final, comes in for Brady whom he replaced after 25 minutes of the Fermanagh match. He takes up the fullback position with Ciaran Brady moving to right corner - although Paul Brady actually played at wing back despite being selected in the corner.

Meanwhile, in the Ulster hurling championship, Derry have reentered at senior level this season and meet Down at Casement Park in a semifinal on Sunday.

Their team has suffered a severe setback with the loss of Ulster Railway Cup player Oliver Collins who has damaged his ankle ligaments. Although Collins is named on the bench, Derry manager Hugo MacOscair says that the player is most unlikely to feature at any stage. This loss is exacerbated by the unavailability of Peter Doherty who has a hamstring strain.

Derry lost narrowly to Down in their NHL Division Three meeting earlier this year but the result, impressive at the time, was put in context by the disappointing subsequent campaign by Down who had been promotion favourites at the start of the season.
