Carrickmore were crowned champions of Tyrone yesterday, but they had to survive some anxious moments before finally seeing off the courageous challenge of Killyclogher to claim their 12th title and their third of the 1990s. Peter McGinnity's unfancied Killyclogher side fought back from a 10-point deficit to narrow the gap to two as the game reached a thrilling climax. In the end, Carrickmore must thank their former Tyrone star Brian Gormley, who proved the difference between the sides. He set up brother Fergal for an early goal and was involved in every attack.
Killyclogher were a transformed side after the break, and a Dan McElroy goal left just two points between the sides. Carrickmore's vast experience eventually told and Gormley shot the insurance point to give them the title
