New replay technology is to be employed in an effort to eliminate controversial line decisions during this summer's cricket World Cup.

An agreement has been reached with Panasonic to provide dedicated fixed cameras in line with the creases at all the matches - including those in Dublin, Edinburgh and Amsterdam - to facilitate the third umpire.

The equipment will cost about £500,00, which may be recouped by sponsorship.
