Ipswich boss George Burley declared he is ready for the huge challenge of reviving the club's flagging fortunes as he insisted his team have no reason to fear Inter Milan.

Burley admitted his players could only have dreamed of a UEFA Cup third-round tie against the Serie A giants when they were in Division One two years ago.

And he is determined to make the most of the occasion at Portman Road tonight, even though an injury jinx appears to have afflicted his squad.

With Marcus Stewart, Finidi George and Ulrich Le Pen ruled out, while Alun Armstrong and John McGreal are doubtful, Jim Magilton is now the latest worry with a thigh strain.

While Inter can cope with four absent strikers, including Ronaldo and Christian Vieri, those absences could hit Ipswich hard - especially as they have only one Premiership win under their belt all season.

"You have to take your knocks," Burley admitted. "This season is going to be a bigger challenge than last season. Everyone is writing us off, things are not going so well, a lot of key players are injured, we've been a bit unlucky and so it's a big challenge.

"But that's life. I'm certainly up for it, as are the coaching staff and all the players, and I've got every confidence that we'll be able to pull through."
