SCHOOLS' RUGBY LEINSTER JUNIOR CUP QUARTER-FINALS:CONOR KILCOYNE'S Blackrock College overcame a game Newbridge College to stay on track for their 46th Leinster Schools' Junior Cup in yesterday's quarter-final at Templeville Road.

Blackrock struck in the 10th minute when right-wing Daniel Carr wrong-footed Newbridge for fullback Jack O’Carroll to add the points. Newbridge fought hard to keep the score to 7-0 at the break.

Blackrock hooker Johnny Sexton sprinted over for a second converted try in the right corner in the 50th minute before scrumhalf Andrew Quirke added the winners’ third try. Newbridge were rewarded for their efforts when outhalf Billy Dardis made the line for scrumhalf Mullins to convert.
