Ardscoil Rís 17 Castletroy College 3:A POWERFUL pack paved the way for a comfortable win by Ardscoil Rís at Dooradoyle.
They led after 11 minutes when Robbie Whyte went in at the corner after his side won a scrum and the ball was worked out to the winger.
Castletroy cut the deficit with a penalty from JJ McDonnell.
Once Ardscoil managed a second try after 20 minutes by prop Conor Glynn it disrupted the Castletroy side who trailed 10-3 at the interval.
The third Ardscoil try involved several players in the build-up and prop Glynn sprinted the last 20 yards to emerge as man of the match.
That try was converted by outhalf Ronan McKenna, who was most unlucky to see a drop goal come back off an upright following a scrum on the 22-metre line.
