"The most exquisitely satisfying act in the world of golf is that of throwing the club. The full backswing, the delayed wrist action, the flowing follow-through, followed by that unique whirring sound, reminiscent of a passing flock of birds, are without parallel in sport." Henry Longhurst

THIS is where I came in. Simply a superb site: genuinely intelligent, clever, witty, well-designed and even useful - every golfer would benefit from a visit to Joe Duffer's Golf Academy.

The site is home to the Duffer's Golf Association (DGA), which, they say, "was established to bring golf back to its roots and to give voice to the millions of golfers throughout North America that call themselves, and identify with being, a Duffer.

"Duffers are a breed apart whose attitudes and abilities have scorned both the advances of instruction and technology. "Recognising these facts, the Duffers Golf Association was created for three reasons:

To bring enjoyment and to enhance the great game of golf by recognising and celebrating the Duffer for what he or she is. While we certainly encourage and applaud attempts at improving one's game, a Duffer is a Duffer. Serious attempts at improving one's game are to be lauded - taking the game seriously is frowned upon.

Provide an eclectic collection of information and vehicle for Duffers to participate and share their experiences, stories, advice and commentary for Duffers across the entire continent to enjoy.

Provide members of the Duffer's Golf Association numerous benefits and services striving to continually update and add additional benefits for the DGA. These will be so compelling that nobody will be able to resist joining."

"Hazard Monitor - This faculty monitors all hazards within a Duffer's field of vision and magnifies them to three times their size."
