Ireland's Richie Coughlan holed out his tee shot at the 15th on his way to a second successive one-under-par 71 to qualify for the final two days of the Honda Classic in Florida.
There is a Honda car for a hole in one at the weekend, and it was uncertain whether Coughlan would receive anything for his achievement, but as it turned out the shot put him into the third round, sufficient reward in itself.
Coughlan's half-way total of 142 leaves him 10 shots behind leader Jasper Parnevik. The Swede added a five under-par 67 to his first round 65 to take a three-shot lead over early leader John Huston, Mark Calcavecchia and Chris Smith.
Parnevik was quickly into his stride with birdies at the second, fourth, fifth and seventh in an outward half of 32 and birdie at the 16th and 17th compensated for his only concession to par at the 15th for an inward 35 and a total of 132.
Ironically it was at the same hole, the 15th, that Coughlan holed out his tee shot which took him to go to three under par for the tournament. Starting at one under par Coughlan picked up a birdie at the second but dropped a shot at the ninth to be out in level par 36. Five pars in-a-row were followed by the ace at the 15th and he finished par-bogey-par for his 71.
