Madam, – According to Mary Lou McDonald Sinn Féin is to debate a motion “ruling out alliance” with either Fianna Fáil or Fine Gael (Home News, February 25th) because such a move “would be incompatible with our policies and would damage the party”.
So now we know, Sinn Féin (now seen by many as a spent-force in the Republic) is not only the party of breathtaking hypocrisy but also of quite spectacular self-delusion! – Yours, etc,
