Sir, - I read with interest and no little incredulity the article "Voices from the Edge" (January 13th) which related in part to the Ballinacurra Weston area of Limerick. I take exception to two statements: that no politician canvasses the area and that the people of the area do not vote.
I personally canvass this area, not only during elections, but several times during the course of the year. Indeed I toured the area in the past two weeks.
The voting pattern of the area is a matter of public record and shows, for those who bother to check the facts, a healthy turnout, of which I thankfully receive a high percentage. - Yours, etc.,
