Sir, - Ruth Dudley Edwards (November 19th) is gentle with me when she labels me an innocent victim of Sinn Fein propaganda, so I will be equally generous and concede that the venue of the offending tribal dance was actually Carleton Street.
However, whether it was Garvaghy Road or Carleton Street, Mr Trimble was, in Ruth's own words, "wearing an Orange collarette", he did have the other symbols - bowler hat and rolled umbrella, he was in the forefront in Drumcree throughout the 1995 confrontation and he was clearly Paisley's partner, not only in the dance but in a demonstration of Orange determination to bulldoze their traditional rights over the human rights of others. - Yours, etc., Douglas Bain,
Newcastle Middle, Co Wicklow.
