Sir, - I am a second year student in the North Strand Vocational School. We are doing a traffic study as part of our Environmental and Social Studies exam for the Junior Cert.
In the surveys we did by counting the numbers of cars passing our school, we found out that the traffic congestion has got worse since 1990.
In 1990, the students in our school did a similar survey and they found that 70 per cent of the cars passing the school had only one person in them. In 1998 we found that 88 per cent of the cars passing the school have only one person in them.
