Madam, - It might be of interest to Colm McAnthony (October 8th) to know that Wolfe Tone Terrace is anything but new as it has been called that since it was built well over 100 years ago. The only thing that is new is the nameplate. This was erected by South Dublin County Council following representations to Seamus Brennan, TD, in his capacity as chairman of the 1798 commemorative committee.

I'm sure Mr McAnthony will be glad to hear a memorial to Ann Devlin is to be erected on the same spot in the near future. Perhaps it would also be of interest to him to know that the Rathfarnham Historical and Preservation Society meets regularly in the Church of Ireland hall, Rathfarnham village and welcomes new members. - Yours, etc.,

JOE KANE, Grange Road, Dublin 14.
