Madam, – In January last year the Icelandic coalition government collapsed, following the “Household Revolution” when 10 per cent of Icelanders made their views loudly known, with their clanging percussion of “pots and pans”.

Their success undoubtedly instilled them with the confidence to overwhelmingly reject repayment of Icesave bank compensation to Dutch and UK savers, in a recent referendum.

For the united Icelandic people, enough was enough! The time has come for the subordinated Irish people to rise up and protest similarly loudly and consistently at our current Government.

Our Government’s mantra may be, “we are where we are”, but we do not have to be led where they are leading us!
