Madam, - How interesting that Father Leonard Taylor (October 20th) chose to describe the physical embodiment of a male church to emphasise his view that the lack of diversity among the Roman Catholic Hierarchy is a positive feature.

Might I suggest that a hierarchy less uniformly "broad in the shoulders and narrow in the hips", with more more fullness of breast and roundness of hips, is the shape of a hierarchy united with people in the gospel as it is lived in complex and diverse real 21st-century lives? - Yours, etc.,
