Sir, – Having watched the scenes at Dublin Airport on Tuesday night I have a suggestion as to how the regeneration of the country might be achieved. A “Special Olympics” roadshow should be commissioned to travel the length and breadth of the land, holding celebrations in each major town and city.
The injection of pure joy and good spirits that this would generate would soon create the optimism and positivity needed to get Ireland going again.
Whoever named it the Special Olympics got it absolutely right. Congratulations to all those who represent our country so brilliantly. – Yours, etc,
