Sir, – In “Ireland’s top 25 Beaches” (Magazine, July 7th) Sandra O’Connell notes that Coral Beach at Carraroe, Galway is reckoned to be Ireland’s only coral beach. In fact there are two other coral beaches, at Mannin Bay, Ballyconeely, Co Galway. Both have the same make-up as the beach at Carraroe and are great for snorkelling, with plenty of rock pools. The beaches are referred to locally as the Coral Strand or the White Strand. – Yours, etc,
