Sir, – Sandra O’Connell (Magazine, July 7th) lists Ireland’s 25 “best” beaches, under five different categories. Astonishingly, the article omits the surely the most obvious category: the Best for Swimming.
I, for one , regard the quality of swim as the most important reason to go to any particular beach. And may I nominate Banna Strand in Co Kerry as the most exhilarating swimming beach in this country. – Yours, etc,
