Terrorist Attacks In United States

Sir, - One hopes that Ireland does not make too much of its "neutral" status in its work at the United Nations

Sir, - One hopes that Ireland does not make too much of its "neutral" status in its work at the United Nations. For many years some of Ireland's leaders have tacitly encouraged a particularly murderous terrorist group, have dignified their actions as being in some way political, and have worked long and hard to help it subvert the rule of law in the North of Ireland. In doing so they have played their part in creating the international terror network which carried out the New York atrocity.

In the war against terrorism, Ireland is inevitably, given its record, seen as an untrustworthy partner, and its Government should remember this before it preens itself at the UN. - Yours, etc.,

Philip Atkinson, Mounthooly Loan, Edinburgh, Scotland.
