Sir, - Mary Holland writes that the Prevention of Terrorism Act "was passed by the House of Lords in two minutes" (July 4th). In fact, it was debated here for almost four hours, to which I contributed 17 minutes - on November 28th, 1974, whilst she was watching its progress through the Commons. It could then go through the Lords "on the nod" when it reached us next morning. - Yours, etc.,
