Sir, - I refer to Hugh Linehan's description of Alive in the film preview section of The Irish Times (January 20th). I and perhaps the 16 survivors and relatives of the victims of Alive disagree with him. Although the faith and friendship which inspired the survivors during their ordeal may not emerge in the film, it is however a true story of suffering and solidarity and can hardly be described as a "dreary old tale".
