Sir, - In answer to Fr Patrick McCafferty's letter (May 20th) I suggest that, until the Irish Catholic Church takes full responsibility for its abuse of power in this State, and opens to the public its clandestine operations - secret societies, business links, etc., it should be proscribed.
I am not afraid to put on public record my utter revulsion towards this institution. I honestly don't think the Church realises the real hurt, anger and pain it has inflicted on Irish society. - Yours, etc., Gary Hearns,
