Sir, - With regard to the dispute between An Taisce and Eamonn "The Earth Is Flat" ╙ Cuiv in relation to rural housing, I propose the following.
Each county council should buy some land adjacent to towns and villages, build housing sites with roads, water and electricity, and sell them for a fixed, no-profit-no-loss price to people who want to build houses in the locality.
This would encourage people to live in rural areas in a real community setting and eliminate the obvious problems caused by one-off housing. - Yours, etc.,
