Madam, – It is most distressing to read of the increasing rates of suicides among men in farming (Home News, August 19th). The same edition had a piece on Fr Aidan Troy who now works in Paris. During his ministry in Belfast a less publicised aspect of his ministry was his response to the many suicides he encountered and their aftermath.
I strongly recommended his recently published book of Out of the Shadow: responding to Suicide. It is an honest, helpful book written in his usual humble style. – Yours, etc,
