Sir, – Thanks to Pádraig Hogan for his article on religious education and especially for his comment on the promotion of a “greater plurality of schools” rather than “a greater plurality within schools” (“Religious education differs vastly from faith formation”, Opinion Analysis, January 10th).
Listening to Paddy O’Gorman on Pat Kenny’s radio programme, when he was asking people on either side of the dividing fence in east Belfast whether they had friends among the members of the other community or not, they all replied that they had not. If those people had been in school together as children, their answers would have been different. – Yours, etc,
