Sir, - A proposed syllabus for Leaving Cert history was produced by a course committee of the National Council for Curriculum and Assessment (NCCA). The "Draft Syllabus for Consultation" was printed by the NCCA and circulated to a limited number of people during the summer holidays. The vast majority of history teachers have little or no idea of its contents. They are now told that they must quickly decide their views on the syllabus.
