Not only have we Marathon Oil and Scottish Southern seeking planning permission to build a new power plant at Platin, outside Duleek, taking water from just below Newgrange but now we have another consortium seeking to build a second similar power plant in Johnstown, again taking water from the Boyne. Perhaps by the time the heated and treated water is returned to the Boyne several degrees hotter, we will have the location of Ireland's new 50 metre swimming pool! - Yours, etc.,
