Sir, - Attempts to tag Mr McDowell TD with a Rottweiler image are in my opinion completely misplaced. Nothing in his physiognomy even hints at such a sobriquet. An incisive whippetlike phys might fill the bill perhaps, but that of the noble Rott - never.
In any case this prestigious title has long been the preserve of a gallant Soldier of Destiny. A real treat to watch him in full flight on television replacing the traditional FF grass roots nod and wink technique with the true "Rottweiler" image. First a preliminary growl or two and then straight for his opponent's jugular, burying him beneath a melange of irrelevancies adorned with a soupcon of fact, as much as to say, "Put that in your bustle and waggle it!"
