A chara, - How disappointing to discover that the proposed Orange Order march in Dublin is to be but a pale imitation of the real thing - no UFF bands, no songs about kicking the Pope and wading in Catholic blood, no drunken bowsies and hangers-on haranguing the local residents. Obviously it will be necessary to venture up North to experience the true spirit of the order.
Still, might one hope that in accepting the invitation the order is now committing itself to the principle of consent - that is, that it will in future march only where it is invited and welcome? Perhaps when she's doing the reconciliation waltz with the order, Ms Freehill might have a word in its ear on this issue? - Is mise, Tomas Mac Sheoin,
